Peterson Energy Logistics has been awarded granted status for the Fit for Offshore Renewables (F4OR) programme, under sponsorship from the Energy Transition Zone (ETZ).

The accreditation forms a vital part of the company’s renewables strategy which harnesses the expertise and innovation developed through Peterson’s 50 years of experience in the energy sector, including the provision of vital services to a number of high-profile renewables projects.

F4OR, delivered by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, is a unique business transformation programme which supports the development of an increasingly competent and competitive UK offshore renewable energy supply chain.

Jason Hendry, Managing Director for England and Renewables Strategy at Peterson, said:

“We are very proud to be one of the first energy logistics companies to achieve this accreditation, underpinning our commitment to this sector. F4OR status demonstrates that the logistics and technology solutions we provide to unburden clients are based upon proven expertise, an innovative mindset, and a keen focus on evolving and growing as we journey together through the energy transition.”

To achieve F4OR granted status, Peterson evidenced its strengths in a number of business areas including strategy and leadership, process excellence, and HSEQ (health, safety, environment and quality). The company also took part in training modules covering a wide range of industry topics to improve its sector specific knowledge.

Davood Sabaei, Supply Chain Programme Manager, Development & Operations at ORE Catapult, said:

“For more than three years, the rigorous F4OR programme – with its extensive network of specialist advisers – has been providing ambitious companies with tailored support to help them enter the offshore renewable energy supply chain and win business. All companies selected to take part have identified offshore renewable energy as a strategic opportunity for growth.

“Having successfully completed the 18-month F4OR programme and achieved granted status demonstrates that the Peterson Energy Logistics team has built the skills, processes, leadership and capacity to bid for work in this rapidly expanding market.”

One component of F4OR is a commitment to developing the people and skills required for the renewables sector.

Steven Burns, Group Head of HR at Peterson, added:

“Participating in the programme has allowed us to deepen our understanding of the competencies that are required in the renewables market and identify training and development opportunities to upskill our existing workforce. As the energy transition progresses, we will require different leadership styles, more diverse thought and enhanced collaboration, and we look forward to building on the knowledge and processes we’ve learned throughout the programme to achieve this and stay ahead of the curve as the sector continues to rapidly evolve.”

Peterson’s portfolio in the renewable energy sector includes working with clients on the Viking Wind Farm in Shetland, Dogger Bank C Wind Farm, and Hollandse Kust Wind Farms. In 2022, Peterson also launched Coast Offshore, a joint venture with Coast Renewable Services, which delivers integrated solutions to the offshore wind sector. This company is currently providing services to Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm, Seagreen, in the North Sea.

Peterson Energy Logistics, with bases in the UK, Netherlands, and Middle East, has more than 800 people committed to unburdening clients and providing world-leading logistics and supply chain solutions driven by a passion to lead the way in transforming how industry plans, manages and executes the movement of critical resources globally.
