Warehousing and storage

Specific services provided include:

• Receipts – receipting and quality auditing
• Storage and preservation – administration in the warehouse management system, monitoring, stock control, and maintaining a quality environment
• Preparing for shipment
• Picking and packing
• Re-packing of general cargo as well as classified (IMO, ADR, IATA) Cargo
• Liquid chemicals drumming and tank container filling

We own various certified bonded warehouses where we store your goods, free of import duties and other taxes and levies until they are transported to the user. In addition to bonded warehouses, we own bonded tank storage facilities for the supply of Marine Gas Oil (MGO) at various locations.

Our expert team handles all customs formalities related to the import and export of goods and can arrange the storage of goods in bonded warehouses and tanks. We can act as fiscal representatives for various companies and producers based outside the European Union.

Edzell Base

Our warehouse base in Edzell has more than 300,000m² of hardstanding external storage and 60,000m² of internal storage.

The site has been recognised as an Authorised Customs Warehouse unlocking a range of new client benefits to support their operations.

The Customs Warehouse Authorisation means we have a public customs warehouse at Edzell which allows our customers to store goods, and then re-export to the UKCS or a Third Country, without the payment of import VAT and duties. The storage period within the company’s customs warehouse is indefinite, unlike the defined period imposed by HMRC when operating alternative customs special procedures.

The site also offers 1,000m² of internal bunded storage, SEPA-compliant Interceptor, and Ventilation.

Peterson has been awarded Authorised Economic Operator (AEO status) and our base at Edzell has been officially certified as carbon neutral under the PAS 2060 accreditation.

AEO status is an internationally recognized quality mark that demonstrates our supply chain is secure and we have robust customs control procedures in place. This allows us to move goods quicker, therefore improving the supply chain for customers.
